The Hunters and the Hunted...
Bubomon are generally good people to hire if you want something found out. The rat Digimon are easygoing and sniveling, and quickly fall in with darker characters. With exceptions. One of those exceptions being the Kshyatriyai of the Umbromon Clan. Cloaked Umbromon: Do you suppose we should just let him die now? Cloaked Umbromon #2: He told us all he knows. He's of no further use to us...why not speed him on his way....? Cloaked Umbromon: Possibly a good idea, but for one thing...it'll attract too much attention... Cloaked Umbromon #2: Then I'll do it *quietly*, see? He'll die one way or the other.... Cloaked Umbromon:....fine. Do it now, then....I'm going to go find our third. We need to move on the target now, before the Heretic can interfere.... ---------- Thanatos shifted back into his normal form, slumping behind a building, panting for breath as he let the effort of keeping his changed form go. Umbromon would've noticed some Dragon Digimon walking to the gate. Sworddramon had arrived, looking around broodingly. Captain Greymon came up to him. Captain: Sworddramon, you return so soon? O_o; And without young Kenkaku? Sworddramon: I am here on private business.

With a curse, Umbromon moved away speedily, carving a path unseen through the back alleys and the gutters of the city...up until he came to a large, heavily populated intersection. Umbromon:.....shit. *sighs* Here we go again.... The Umbromon's form shifted again, becoming a passable imitation of a Stragomon...as tired as he was, Thanatos just hoped he could maintain it until he found Ex...

Sworddramon sniffed a the air. He tried to single it out to Stragomon only, but with the number that were there, that was a pointless attempt. He finally decided to separate them out by Neo Matrix frequency, his helmet giving him readings right through his eyes and into his brain. Sworddramon: *snarls* This is freaking ridiculous..

Cloaked Umbromon #2: Where the hell is the third?! Dammit, Re'fatha, we should never have-- Cloaked Umbromon: Be silent, you fool. She'll be here. Cloaked Umbromon #2: Well she had better...and with some damn good information on the whereabouts of that filthy little dragon er'woh! We don't have any time to waste... Cloaked Umbromon: *sharply* Are you suggesting that I will lead us to failure, Kshyatriya...?!? The other figure winced, clearly bowing. Cloaked Umbromon #2:.....No. Forgive my impertinence, Re'fatha. Cloaked Umbromon: It is forgive, in His good name. Stretch my paitence again and even that may not save you. --------------------- Thanatos would not have heard the voices...but perhaps, just perhaps, Sworddramon picked up the odd sounds from the street....

Sworddramon perked at hearing it, sticking to the wall as his faceguard slid off. Sworddramon: ~What on earth..?~

Cloaked Umbromon: .....did you hear something? Cloaked Umbromon #2: No, why...? You don't suppose they found-- Cloaked Umbromon: Of course not. But I don't think we should continue this conversation here. Let us shift, and then we'll find the third...then we can put our plan into effect. The two changed forms easily, shadowy bodies shifting to become the shapes of a pair of dragons...an Agumon and a Growlmon...the two moved off into the crowd, as Sworddramon watched, marked only by their odd green cloaks...

Sworddramon: *growls* I think I'll just see what they're up to...they had to have been talking about Ex. Civilian Mode. Sworddramon's armour snapped off, bringing him to his street clothes. He went into the crowd, following the "dragons". On the path to Dragon City were Ryota, Izumi, and Akurei, all of them now partnerless.

The dragons moved down the street, trying to lose the taller one in crowds of similar types...the green cloaks becoming less and less visible... ---------------- Akurei: I'm not picking up the DNA signature of Umbromon anywhere around here....you two having any luck with Ex and Sworddramon...? The Nagisa boy was doing his best to keep his composure stiff and calm...but his worry showed openly on his face...

Sworddramon: *growls* ~ You won't lose me so easily....I hate to do this but...~ Sworddramon shivered a bit, and shrank into the crowd... ----- Ryota: No..it's as if he purposely cut the conection between him and the Digivice..

The two false dragons ducked into an alley, moving quicker than before as they dashed through the dirty backstreets of the City, their forms slowly shifting back to that of a pair of Umbromon.... They stopped at a particularly dark courtyard of the city, looking around with furtive and suspicious glances. Cloaked Umbromon:...Now we wait for the third....

Sworddramon might have lost them...but Ryuuzamon didn't. The wings of the little dragon carried him to nearby roof to watch over the Umbromon. Ryuuzamon: ~So who're they waiting for..?~ ---- Vritramon: Halt! No one shall enter without being accompanied by a Dragon Digimon! Ryota: Dammit not now!

Izumi: *her face looked very obviously upset. Though she was trying hard to keep her own composure. She was failing much more obviously than Akurei...* But our partners are already IN Dragon City. We have to get to them! Please. I need to get to Ex and talk to her! One look at her should tell just about anyone she wasn't lying... She was too upset...

Vritramon: ...well....alright. But just this time. *opens the gate* Move it. Ryota: *bows* Arigato, Vritra-san.

Akurei's face was grim and coldly set, but his eyes betrayed his worry all too well, both to Vritra and to the others... Akurei: Let's split up...we'll cover more ground that way...*bites his lip as he looks over at the tearful Izumi* We'll find them, Izumi-san. Don't worry.
