Head in the Clouds (Mission 25 Continued)

The large aerial Dronaes literally ate he attacks, and regergitated them right back at the Guardians. Higa and Saberdramon flew above one of the other ones. Saberdramon: Saberdramon, Geno Shinka! SILPHYMON! Silphymon charged up his standard attack while Higa distracted the Dronae by attacking its wing. Silphymon: TOP GUN!! The red energy ball slammed into the Dronae's back, but caused little damage.

Derryn blinked. "That was new..." Laryomon backed off from his own target. "One would agree, perhaps a physical strike would suffice. Jetstream Strike!" A moment later, he was on the other side of the Dronae... Derryn, on the other hand, simply brought up his blades again, and gestured over at his opponent. "Alright, so you ate that move, your move then!"

The winf og the Dronae came right off...and flew after Laryomon. O_o;; The Dronae just floated there...then fired a massive energy blast straight at Derryn without sound of charging.

Laryomon: One says that this defies many laws of the world... (Evades the wing, and tosses a Plasma Bolt at it Derryn: @_x Holy---(Narrowly evades the blast) >_< Now you've done it! Souhazan!!! (Starts going into high-speed slashes)

Each slash was met with another blast fo energy. This thing had no charge time or recall to speak of. The wing dodged the plasma bolt and then began firing spikes at Laryomon's wings. ..Silphymon and Higa were nowhere to be found..

Derryn grimaced as he took in the situation. Three Dronae, new type, seemingly impervious to all available forms of attack, with no charge up time. This means they're getting power from someplace constantly. Higa and Silphymon are MIA... Hang on a second, something isn't quite right here... "Wait a second..." Derryn started... Then quickly ramped up his awareness, something was about to go seriously wrong... Laryomon evaded the spikes, and began using Jetstream Strike Again. This time, he faded back into view, attempting to impale the Dronae's skull.

The Dronae moved just enough to avoid the attack, while the wing tore after Laryomon at high speed. As if things weren't bad enough, more Dronae of the same type began to show up.

Derryn: Damn, where's the weak-spot... (Reaches into his dagger pouch and pulls a Blue Stormer out, tossing it at the forehead of one of the Dronae) And for that matter, where's the little "Surprise" coming from... Laryomon stopped dead after his attack, only to dive down deep, hoping that the wing would smack into the Dronae he was fighting.

The wing did indeed crash into it, but celebration would have to wait as the new dronae began firing on Laryomon this time. The Dronae took the Blue Stormer, but really wasn't hurting that bad from it.

Derryn: Hmm, the Blue Stormers seem to have some effect... So let's try more (Pulls out six daggers) Spiral Impact!! (Follows up the first attack with a spread of them. Laryomon: (Evades the shots) -.- One grows weary of this, Jetstream Strike! (Goes for a maximum-speed head attack)

Laryomon flew right into five energy blasts, and STILL more of them were coming. The Dronae Derryn attacked screeched in pain, and finally fell out of the sky. Five more Dronae got up behind him and began to fire.

Laryomon cursed loudly, and flew back to regroup with Derryn, the two stood back to back, watching the swarm grow. Derryn: So... Laryomon: You wish to give... That move a try? Derryn: ^_^;;; Well, we haven't tried Dual Techs in a while now... I noticed they seem vulnerable to my daggers. Laryomon: And their own power... They also seem to die easier when struck in the head. Derryn: Yep... So, shall we begin? Laryomon: This one concurs! With that, Derryn called up his Second Advent to maximum intensity, and Laryomon began forming a powerful tornado, which Derryn had tempered into a rather interesting, vertical cloud looking eeriely like a hurricane, with that, Laryomon took hold of Derryn, and began spinning him around like a whirlwind in it's own right. At the last possible minute... Both: Dual Tech! Spiral Slicer!!! Laryomon let go The interesting thing here, was that while Laryomon maintained the micro-hurricane, Derryn was able to slip along the air currents forming it up, and as a result, greatly increase his own speed within it's boundries. Derryn: And... (Crosses his blades) To finish it, Souhazan!!!! Flashes of blades were seen all over the place, mostly aimed towards the heads of the Dronae, but really, with an attack as indirect as that, it's a bit more difficult to get any real accuracy...

It had it's effect though. Thanks to the speed, dronae heads came flying as several of the massive aerials fell to the earth below. The others retreated, but were shot down by red energy bolts. Higa: ^^; Sorry bout that! We got chased by more of those things. Silphymon: *is missing am arm* One of those bastards got me to..

Derryn gave a cheerful grin, and nodded. "That's good, that's good! Now, mind answering me a quick question?" Laryomon blinked. "What are you getting at?" Derryn just sort of waved it off, and gave a suspicious stare at Higa. "Who sent you on this mission? I wasn't told that there'd be anyone else around here, and I find it awfully convienent that you vanish shortly after these guys appear, and show up just after they run off, if I'm wrong, I apologize, but a few things aren't adding up here..."

Higa: I was sent by Ms.Nagisa, Professor Dussander's aid. I guess she didn't want anyone knowing she screwed up by sending a rookie Tamer so she kept silent about it. ^^;
